Developing Your Foundation.
Whether it be a spiritual foundation, family foundation, or the foundation of your home, the stability of your foundation is CRUCIAL! Today, I want to talk a little about the foundation of your business.
Now, I am not an expert by any means, but after a conversation I had today I thought to myself this would be a great topic for discussion.
Let me tell you a little story behind Berg Marketing Group. We were a one man team for a year. That team was me. My main focus was Derma Medical Spa and that was that. I would enlist help from my loving husband but I was NOT going to take on more clients. But, as with everything in life that transitioned into so much more. Ryan had recently been laid off twice due to budget cuts and when I asked him the age old question "whats next" he said to me why can't we join forces and work together and build onto Berg Marketing Group. I'm not going to lie, I WAS TERRIFIED. So terrified that I made my husband give me a sales pitch. Well needless to say he sold himself and here we are.
Why am I telling you all of this? I am supposed to be chatting with you about the foundation of a business and why it is important. Here's why...
I did my thing with Derma, and once we decided to go all in as Berg Marketing Group the phone started to ring. All before having our foundation. No time for our website, no time for our service menu, our brochure, or business cards, nothing was completed. But, we are a marketing company how is this possible? The ball just started rolling, and rolling and pretty soon our board of projects was full and we were a month out. But, back to our foundation, is it stable? I think a foundation is so much more then a "store front" aka a website or a brochure. I kept saying to my husband, people aren't going to trust that we know what we are doing because we don't have a website yet or a menu for that matter. But, the truth is we do. We have the experience, the knowledge, the faith, the clients, the testimonials and the relationships, that my friends is a foundation.
How sturdy is your foundation?
